The getaway.

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

When I decided to go, I felt that it would be good for me on a multitude of levels. Like I have said on my posts. I wanted to do something larger than life. I wanted to experience something that would impact my life in a great way.

I also knew that it would give me a major appreciation for what I have and to those around me.

I haven’t even been gone a full day yet, and I can already see things clearer. It’s amazing what a little distraction from the typical day will do for you. I have to do this more often. Ok…. Maybe not to the extreme of Africa, but getting away and taking time to clear your head and mind is very important.

I knew that this trip would help me do this. I’m a creative guy with a ton of passion and even more drive. I’m on the airplan right now typing this and reflecting about all that I have to be thankful for.

So I am getting on to my next flight leaving England going to Nairobi and I received a pleasant surprise. I was upgraded to world class with a much bigger seat and foot rests and of reclines wayyyy back.

Very cool to have this happen. Excited about the trip and what I’m about to experience here in about 10 hours.

Thank you all for your support and prayers.

I have an amazing opportunity in front of me.

I wanted to share with you all something amazing that is happening in my life and to update you all on a few things.
I am blessed. I have a blessed life and God has blessed me more than I could of ever imagined. I have a wonderful family, a wife that is my iron lug of support (couldn’t do anything without her), 2 healthy and beautiful kids, a wonderful and fun agency filled with the most amazing workers that could be huge assets to any company and clients that I absolutely adore (non more than Mobil 1 - we all know that!).
I had a family friend challenge me recently to step outside of my comfort zone and step back and look at how much I have to be thankful for. He then went on to challenge me to work hard to find ways to give back and to make a bigger impact that what I would do through work etc. He wanted to see me make an impact on the world and take part in something that would change my life and how I view it.
